Fresno, California – AgLand Renewables LLC (AgLand), the California subsidiary of CleanBay Renewables Inc., today announced its partnership with Sacramento-based engineering firm Wood Rodgers, Inc. Through the partnership, Wood Rodgers will assist with the engineering, planning, surveying, and mapping of AgLand’s proposed bioconversion facilities in Kings and Merced counties.

AgLand’s recent momentum in California builds off its past successes. The company is a recipient of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) highly competitive California Competes Tax Credit program in 2021. The company also announced it is working with the Climate Action Reserve and academic institutions to establish a nitrous oxide (N2O) avoidance framework and a methodology for carbon credit accounting associated with transportation fuel and natural, controlled-release fertilizer derived from poultry manure.
“With the recent passage of AB1757 and release of the draft 2022 Scoping Plan, we look forward to providing a meaningful solution for the California Natural Resources Agency and Air Resources Board to address N2O emission from the natural and working lands, while supporting a sustainable California agriculture ecosystem,” states Donal Buckley, CleanBay’s CEO.
AgLand will deploy at least two facilities in the Central Valley, home of California’s poultry production industry and vast fertilizer needs, over the next few years. The facilities will use anaerobic digestion and nutrient recovery technologies to sustainably convert poultry litter into low-carbon renewable natural gas (RNG) and natural/organic, controlled-release fertilizers.
At full capacity, each bioconversion facility will recycle more than 150,000 tons of poultry litter annually. By repurposing a potential source of excess nutrients, each facility can generate over 750,000 MMBtus of sustainable renewable natural gas, over 100,000 tons of natural, controlled-release fertilizer, and an estimated 1,000,000 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions abatement that will be available for monetization in global carbon markets. The company has worked closely with GO-Biz, County economic development, and other stakeholders throughout its process to select the Central Valley as the location for its near-term projects.
